Hoya kenejiana (inner variegated)
The Hoya kenejiana (inner variegated) is a beautiful epiphyte from the Hoya Genus, featuring large curly leaves with a greenish yellow to golden variegation in the center of the leaves. It is often referred to as “hoya nugget” and “hoya bacon” among Hoya enthusiasts, due to the curling edges of its leaves. When sun-stressed, these hoyas develop pink or red pigmentation.
Named by the German botanist Rudolf Schlecter, this plant is native to island of New Guinea. Hoya kenejiana variegata is a vigorous plant; once established, it grows and blooms profusely. It is regarded as being simple to care for and appropriate for novice hoya growers. It thrives best on a trellis or hanging baskets.
Hoya kenejiana inner variegated features small waxy blooms that are butter yellow; however, they are not fragnant. These flowers form a striking contrast to the foliage, and if conditions are ideal, they bloom profusley all through the growing season.
